NRG Stadium, designated Houston Stadium for the tournament, is home to the NFL’s Houston Texans. When it opened in 2002 it was the first NFL venue with a fully retractable roof, and that climate control is a major advantage given Houston’s fierce June heat and humidity, which can top 33°C (91°F).
The stadium has a strong big-event pedigree, having hosted Super Bowl LI in 2017 and matches at the 2024 Copa América.
