Reece James remains sidelined with a hamstring problem and Jarrell Quansah is a fresh doubt with an ankle issue, leaving Tuchel patching together a defence yet again, this time in the most hostile away conditions the tournament can offer.

The Estadio Azteca, known as Mexico City Stadium for the tournament, hosted the 1970 and 1986 World Cup finals and sits higher above sea level than almost any major football venue on earth.
